Hello! I’m Nutmeg! I’m Cat of the Month for January!
I’m a short-haired white and tortoiseshell female of 8 years. I’m fit and well and have been vaccinated but not spayed. However, I received a head injury as a kitten and the vet told my family that I’d always act like a kitten. I eat meat only.
I’m a friendly girl low developmental age means that I haven’t become wise to the world around me and need to be watched. I’m fine with children, lived with my mother and also with a Chihuahua. and was fine with both. I’ve never shown any aggression. I don’t use a litter tray and am not house-trained. I’m a special needs girl who needs a home where I can be kept safe.
Nutmeg has now been spayed. We have discovered Nutmeg is a carrier for microplasma virus, a nasty form of cat flu, so will have to be rehomed as an only cat and as a house cat to prevent the infection being spread unnecessarily to other cats. Although currently dormant, the resulting cat flu can re-emerge if she becomes stressed. She’s very affectionate but will let you know when she’s had enough. We have decided to make her Cat of the Month along with Sid & Roy who all carry the virus too. We are asking for the usual adoption donation but are offering her new owners a voucher to be used at our vets (Eastfield Vets in North Thoresby or Cleethorpes) at any time during the first year after adoption to treat any issues resulting from the presence of the virus or cat flu.
