Meet Daisy!

DAISY’S STORY

Daisy, now 9 years old, came into the Ark just before Christmas 2020 with her best friend Trixie when their owners were involved in a serious car accident and were hospitalised with life-changing injuries. Both were house cats and shy and timid, especially Daisy. Trixie was adopted but Daisy retreated from people and didn’t sell herself so has remained at the Ark.

She’s a beautiful, quiet girl, who enjoys chilling out in the cat garden alongside the other resident cats. She likes to keep the others in check though and can often be seen with a paw on another cat’s head insisting they be groomed. All the other cats know not to even attempt to pinch her food as she will tell them sharply to back off; basically Daisy’s rules are what’s hers is hers and what’s theirs is very much hers too if she wishes! 

She especially likes her Lick-e-Lix treats. She developed a very poorly mouth early in 2024 resulting in the removal of all her teeth except her fangs. She recovered really well and was soon tucking back in to all the food she could find with gusto. She had stopped eating crunchy treats or biscuits as her mouth hurt but since her dental she even eats these again.

Daisy likes attention from us on her terms, too much attention and she’ll run off. She likes to have a high spot to observe all the comings and goings during the day and a cosy spot, often cuddled up with George or Titch in an evening.

Our sweet Daisy is very settled at the Ark. Taking her away from her comfort zone and her cat friends would be unfair after she has lived with us for so long,so an Ark cat she will remain.
