Hello! We’re Jeremy & Lisa!

We are a pair of short-haired litter siblings of 7 months. Jeremy is the brother and is ginger and white and Lisa is a tortoisshell and white girl. We came from a farm in South Somercotes and are, in fact, failed farm cats. We had no interest in doing farm cat jobs and just sought out human affection and attention, meaning we weren’t scared of farm machinery, including trucks and tractors, so the farmer sought help to rehome us before any accindents happened. We’re both fit and well, have just been neutered on 9th June, have also been microchipped, wormed and flea-treated but aren’t vaccinated. We both enjoy our food and are eating Whiskas or Felix in jelly with any biscuits. We also like Dreamies and meat stick treats.

Adorable just isn’t enough to describe us; we are so gentle-natured, a little shy at first but we soon make it clear that if you have the time, then we’ll take all the fuss, love and attention you have to offer. Lisa is more confident and a little bit of a show-off. She’s the first to seek the loves, and then rolls around showing off her tummy and giving you mushy eyes for more attention. Jeremy sits back initially but, once he sees Lisa doing her thing, he’ll come forward and mimic her moves and then laps up the attention. We’re both learning to play and particularly enjoy catnip kicker toys. We’re known to be fine with other cats but haven’t met children or dogs.

Additional Information

Being born and living outside has meant we have never seen a litter tray so Ark staff are in the process of litter training us. We’re picking it up but do have the odd little accident; once settled into a new home we will probably take to toileting outside again but it is very important that new owners take guidance from staff about our current toileting needs at the time of meeting/adoption and be prepared for an accident or two as we settle. We will definitely require an extra large non hooded tray, possibly even two. A separate space/room is also advised to help us adapt as giving us unlimited access to a full house straight away will no doubt overwherlm us as we have never experienced the comforts of indoors. A garden is very important. We will no doubt enjoy all home comforts and being around people who love us but we need an outdoor space to explore and play. The Ark is looking for a rural or semi rural area as this is the type of location we have grown up in. A busy town or village would be unsuitable as they mean lots of hustle & bustle, busy roads and more of those vehicles we’re not very good at avoiding. We’re closely bonded and must be rehomed together, Jeremy needs his sister to give him confidence and we adore each other, keeping close when we feel insecure and snuggling up at bedtime. We truly are best friends. Although a friendly pair, we wouldn’t be suitable to live with young children. We have had no experience around the busyness of little ones and it’s likely we’ll be too overwhelmed. We need a quiet, relaxed household who can give us the right amount of attention and love to help us build confidence and ease into home life without expectations or demands on us to interact. Ideally we would be only pets in our new home so we don’t have the added pressure of other established pets in the household.
