Meet Connie!
CONNIE’S STORY
Connie came to the Ark early in 2021 after her family moved and left her behind. We think she’s approximately 6-7 years old. She was a stable cat in her former home so wasn’t suited to life as a pet cat and was homed in our stables once she’d settled in, which more than suited her semi-feral background.
Connie is a beautiful, independent lady; she has a gorgeous pale striped colouring and a sweet little meow. She shies away from too much human interaction but loves her home amongst the horses, often found snoozing in the hay. She is a very good hunter and is always proud to show off her catches and we, in turn, are very grateful to her for helping to keep the rats at bay.
She’ll always be a shy cat with humans but has come out of her shell considerably and learned to trust the people she sees in the stables on a daily basis and will allow gentle stroking while she’s eating. Her food is very important to her and she is always waiting for her breakfast when staff arrive at work in the mornings and is there again ready for her dinner before they go home!
She’d become friendly with cats Patch and Ollie who also liked to hang out in the stables, so she had some feline company, but both have now assed away although she seems to enjoy the company of the horses and limited human interaction.
