Hello! I’m Lola!

I am a short-haired, all-black female of 5 years. I’m fit and well, have been spayed and microchipped, am up to date with worm and flea treatments but am not vaccinated. I’m looking for a new home because I had become aggressive towards the dog in my home and my family was worried we might hurt each other. Also, I don’t like being near the new baby and hiss if he makes a noise. I enjoy any food in jelly, eat biscuits but am not as enthusiastic about them as I am my meat. For treats, I like Dreamies or meat sticks. I was a little underweight and very food obsessed on arrival, growling, hissing and behaving erratically whenever a food bowl appeared. Now I know I’ll get regular meals and no-one is going to steal  from me, I’m relaxing and have learned some lovely mealtime manners.

Aside from my food obsession, I’m a beautiful girl with a lot of love to give. When I get to know you I like to sit on your knee and be cradled, have the biggest purr and cute little paddy paws when I’m really happy. I was very bonded to my female owner and followed her around. I’m also fine with older children but don’t like babies or young children. I couldn’t stand the family dog and am not keen on other cats, even though I lived with my litter sister, Alice, who is also at the Ark.

Additional Information

I’d had a bit of a bumpy old time, came into the Ark from a family who tried to do their best by me but I was displaying some issues around food and wasn’t getting along with the family’s dog. I can be very vocal, especially at feeding time as I don’t want to miss out. I can’t be left around any food as I will steal anything and everything; I’m very much a see food gotta eat it kinda girl! I need a home with freedom to do my own thing, maybe a little garden to potter about in, someone to understand me and help me grow in confidence, and above all else I need to have lots of cuddles so I knows I’m loved and safe. I used to sleep on my owner’s bed before the baby was born so may creep up there again once settled. I use my litter tray well. I’d been kept as a house cat so hadn’t been outside but have recently started to go out, but only for a few seconds at a time. The obsession with food means I’m best as a solo pet. I need a home with no babies or young children and need a very safe area to explore as I have no traffic awareness. I’m patiently waiting to meet my special person. Could that be you? If so please get in touch to arrange to meet me.
