Hi! I’m Nancy!

I am 3 years old and 12.2hh.

When I first arrived at my new home I was in an awful state. I was extremely thin, and scared, and I had my 3 week old foal, Frank, with me. I was only a baby myself, and was suspected to be in foal again. I was in no state to have a baby, I really needed to put some weight on and I was giving everything to little Frank. I had some trust issues with humans, and was very possessive around food. I was just trying to be a good mum. Luckily, my new family here at The Ark were there to help me to gain weight and strength. Frank has now been weaned, and I am living child free with my friends.

I am no longer underweight, and am looking really good. I was not in foal again thankfully. I have gained lots of confidence, and like it when my humans give me a scratch on my terms. I can be quite sassy and try to be dominant, especially around food, but my humans practise round up with me to help with this. I have still got a long way to go, but my family are very good with perseverance, so I’m sure I’ll get there. I just need some time and patience.

I am staying in my stable for the winter so that my family can work with me more. I am sharing a stable with my best friend, Sundance. I love her very much, and she helps me to be more confident around my humans.
