Seeking adoption or a foster home

I am a beautiful short-haired, all-white male of 13 years as I was born on 01/06/13. I have a couple of health niggles, an auto-immune condition causing swelling of my pads. I’ve had this for some time and it is kept well-controlled on a small dose of steroids every other day. I also have a heart murmur but am not on any medication and it’s not interfering with my day to day life and activity, just needs checking by the vet from time to time. Staff will give a potential adopter more info about this. Other than this the vet has said that I’m in good condition for my age and have good teeth too. I’m eating well, enjoy Whiskas in jelly or Felix Doubly Delicious/ As Good As It Looks, also like a few Whiskas biscuits with my teatime meat. I love my treats and very much know the cattery routine and will sit meowing sweetly while I await my turn at mealtimes. I’m partial to a Dreamie or 5 and also like meat treat sticks. I have a good appetite and am cheeky enough to ask for seconds with a quiet, sweet meow! I came to the Ark after the sad and sudden loss of my beloved owner.

I’m a shy boy, ok with 2/3 people but don’t like crowds or loudness. I’ve really come out of my shell now, settled lovely and am doing really well, love a little fuss and attention but really enjoy laying in my outside area; you will often find me happily snoozing or watching the chickens whilst laid out looking all chilled; I’m a very laid back chap. I quite like a little groom and nose about the cattery whilst my pen is cleaned, am not much interested in toys but don’t mind a cloth bag with catnip for a good rub and pat about every now and then. I’m known to be good with other cats but don’t like children or dogs nor lots of people and loud noises.

Additional Information

I’ve never shown any aggression. I’ve alway toiletted outside so have had to learn about using litter trays and, although this took a few days, I got there and staff are very proud of me. To be honest, I do have accidents now and again but, considering I’ve spent the best part of 13yrs not using a tray, a couple of mistakes are forgiven. I’m ok to be left all day and slept anywhere I liked, often on my owner’s bed and I LOVE to go outside. I LOVE my outdoor area, enjoying laying out watching the world go by. I didn’t do well when having to stay in for a few days as I very much had the freedom to come and go as I pleased at home. I will most definitely need access to a garden and be given freedom to come and go as I please once settled into my new home; I will likely be happier toileting outside again too but it’s strongly recommend giving me at least 3 trays so I have one in all areas to keep accidents down whilst I adjust. I lived a quiet, relaxed life with my Dad, an older gentleman, so it would be very unfair at this stage in my life to live with a busy family or with children younger than mid teens.

What the Ark says about me

This stunning chap found himself in our care after sadly losing his favourite human in all the world, his Dad! He was his Dad’s world too and Purrseus loved his Dad very much, so much so he was clearly grieving and heartbroken on arrival, he wouldn’t even look at us and just looked so sad. However we made his pen into a cosy snug with a curtain to let him hide away whilst he adjusted to his new surroundings. Slowly but surely he started to come round and once he was shown his outdoor area Purrseus came out of his shell. He clearly missed strokes and affection and he allowed us to offer reassurance, Dreamies also helped him feel brighter and soon he was exploring his pen, coming to greet us when we entered his pen and looking more relaxed in general. He even found his voice and gives us a little meow to remind us not to dilly dally serving his meals. Purrseus needs a new person to love him, understand him and help his heart heal; he needs patience and understanding and someone who is home the majority of the day,

Purrseus misses all the attention and company he enjoyed with his Dad and is looking for a comfy lap to lay on and to be the centre of someone’s world once again. Health wise, he takes a regular steroid tablet every other day for a skin condition that has been under control for sometime with this low level steroid, He takes his tablet in a special treat and is a real good lad eating it up. We would also consider foster applications for Purrseus too which would mean support with his current skin condition and ongoing medication and health issues our vet has made us aware of to date. Vet care would stay with our vets which is Eastfield Vets in North Thoresby but there is a 2nd branch in Cleethorpes.
