Hi! I’m Sammy!

I am around 10.2hh and 20 years old.

I have lots of friends at The Ark and get on with mares and geldings, especially if they like to play.  I love to cause mischief, especially when there’s food around and I even know how to open doors and gates!

Unfortunately I am prone to laminitis and chronic absesses in my feet. In the past I have had severe laminitis, which damaged my feet so badly that I got awful abscesses in my front feet. This took extensive treatment to get rid of, over a long period of time. My human family at The Ark thought that my time had come, but through perseverance got me right. These issues do not stop my cheeky ways, and I am currently feeling as good as new, due to the correct management of my health. Thankfully I am a pony with 9 lives!!

As I am a Grey, I have a duty to get as filthy as I can, so more often than not I may look brown. I think it’s pretty cool that I can change colour! Believe it or not, I used to be a kids party pony and would get dressed up as a unicorn!

I can’t wait to get in my stable for the winter so I can have my haynet all to myself

P.S. I’ve now developed asthma whhich is a nuisance to me. I have to use a nebuliser now when I need it, but I’m getting used to it now and am a good boy because it does make me feel better.
