Hello! I’m Sundance! Otherwise known as Sunny D.

I am only a youngster at 2 years old. I am currently about 11.2hh.

I first arrived at The Ark when I was only a tiny baby, still with my mum, Cassie. We came from the Welsh mountains, in not the best state. My mum was very scared and aggressive towards humans, as she was trying to protect me. I am a special baby you see, I was suspected to be completely blind. I think my mum knew this, so was extra overcautious. I used to run around in circles, scared, and bump into things. Who knows how I survived on the mountains? I was understandably very timid when I first came to my new home but since, I have grown massively in confidence.

Back to my blindness, it turned out that I was only blind in one eye, with a cataract in the other eye. I had surgery to remove the cataract, which restored a bit of my vision.

I like it when my humans talk to me because even my good eye isn’t the best. I tilt my head in a funny way so I can see you better. This doesn’t stop me living my best life though. I still have lots of fun galloping around with my friends.

I am such a good girl, and am quite happy to do anything you ask of me. Last year, I was quite naughty to be led. I am a chestnut mare, so I’ve got to come with a bit of sass! My humans have since taught me lots about manners though.

I am the snuggliest girl and love scratches and cuddles so much. I like to follow my humans around and pester them to give me love. I even cuddle them back!
