Hello! I’m Ivy!
I am a female German Shepherd X, am 4 years old as I was born on 16/01/22 and am a large black, tan and grey dog.
I’ve been spayed and I’m up to date with my vaccinations. I had leg surgery over 2 years ago, before going to my recent home, but am now fit and well and I eat dry hypo-allergenic food.
My recent owner is having to give me up due to hip surgery and spinal problems which means that I can’t be exercised adequately.
I’m a friendly girl but get very excited and can be clumsy. I’ve lived with children and was good but can get excited around them. I’ve not lived with another dog but enjoy being with them although my enthusiasm means that I can sometimes push my luck around them. I’ve no experience of cats but it’s likely I’ll chase them. I don’t like being left on my own.
Additional Information
I’ve never shown any aggression and am good around food. I’m also good in kennels but reluctant to go into the vets and may need some encouragement. I’ve never been to the groomers and am reluctant to be brushed unless being held. I’ll sleep anywhere I’m comfortable and can get travel sick on short journeys. I’m good on the lead unless something attracts my attention and I’ll then pull and off lead will come back when I’m ready, so my recall needs some work. I’m clean in my kennel. My previous owner says I can only be left a few minutes although I’ve been good at the Ark and haven’t been noisy or destructive when left. I love balls and teddies and particularly like a solid boomer ball at the Ark (see video below). I need a home where somebody will be around most of the time and may be able to live with teenagers or another dog after careful introductions. If I were able to be rehomed with a calm, confident dog, the company may help my separation anxiety.
